Introduction

End-to-end tests leverage the power of CodeceptJS, a modern, scenario-driven testing framework designed to write simple and clean tests. CodeceptJS is the successor of Codeception, a widely adopted full-stack testing framework in the PHP ecosystem.

The primary advantage of using CodeceptJS is its ability to abstract the complexities associated with the asynchronous nature of NodeJS and the disparate APIs of various testing or browser automation frameworks like Selenium, Puppeteer, Protractor, TestCafe, and others. It unifies these frameworks, allowing them to operate as if they were synchronous, resulting in a smoother and more manageable testing experience.

In essence, CodeceptJS acts as a meta-framework, providing a uniform wrapper around other JavaScript-based testing frameworks. In our specific implementation, we utilize Playwright as the underlying testing framework.
